Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Utilities Field Technician for the Las Cruces, NM area. The role focuses on field audits and data collection for utility poles using Katapult, ArcGIS, and related equipment. You will report to the San Antonio management team and work onsite in Las Cruces.

The position involves review of scopes, data capture, and timely reporting. Local candidates familiar with power distribution and field operations are preferred, with benefits including PTO and holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience with power poles, overhead utilities and field audits.
• Electrical knowledge required for distribution poles.
• Proficient in conducting field audits using Katapult on a tablet/PC.
• Ability to operate a computer/tablet for field audits.
• Familiar with ArcGIS and Spida.
• Experience with Katapult and IKE equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Confirm project/work order and assigned route before departing.
• Review scope and maps for field assignments.
• Complete pre-safety/JHA checklist.
• Verify PPE, measuring tools, and device/tablet.
• Record pole details using Katapult.
• Capture heights, clearances, and spans with Katapult.
• Upload field data and photos to shared folders.
• Enter time, mileage, pole count, and comments.
• Notify supervisor after completing field work and send End of Day emails.
