Tampa General Hospital is seeking a Poison Information Provider (PIP) to support the Poison Center under the direction of the Directors and Specialists. You will perform initial call triage, assist with home and follow-up calls for established patients, and help manage poisoned patients.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED and either a student in good standing in or graduate of an accredited health-science program (Pharmacy, Nursing, etc.).
• Must be able to use computer and office equipment and be familiar with databases.
• Must have knowledge of medical terminology and be able to complete the Poison Center math examination within 3 months of hire.
• Must have excellent phone and communication skills and comfort in seeking assistance from and/or transferring higher level calls to the Specialist when necessary or as determined by the Directors.
• Must be detail oriented and able to synthesize and succinctly report an interview.

Responsabilités

• Provide initial triage of calls and assist in management of home calls and follow-up calls for established patients.
• Assist Poison Information Specialists in managing poisoned patients and provide information to the public.
• Provide administrative support to department staff and ensure alignment with the mission, vision, and values of the Florida Poison Information Center and Tampa General Hospital.
