Job summary

Vanderbilt Health is seeking a Poison Information Provider (Intern) to answer calls from the general public and provide timely information on non-toxic exposures under supervision. The role requires active enrollment in nursing, pharmacy, or medical school and onsite availability for at least 25 hours per month.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, capable of documenting exposures accurately, and able to triage information to determine appropriate guidance.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in a school of nursing, school of pharmacy, or medical school.
• Must be able to work onsite at the Tennessee Poison Center a minimum of 25 hours/month.
• Flexible schedules available.

Responsibilities

• Obtains critical information and provides accurate information regarding assessment and managing of non-toxic exposures.
• Makes appropriate decisions based on triage information.
• Documents all information and exposure calls in Toxically, including history, symptoms, assessment, and plan on non-toxic exposure cases.
• Documents an accurate question and answer for all information calls and/or history, symptoms, assessment, and recommendation or plan.
