Job summary

Grady Health System is seeking a Poison Information Provider to support public and professional callers with toxicity information and clinical guidance. The role emphasizes clear communication of toxicologic management and coordination with physicians and other health professionals.

The position involves collaboration with the poison center, government emergency resources, and community health programs to address toxic emergencies and rabies exposure reporting as needed.

Qualifications

• Training and experience within the medical health field as a pharmacy, nurse, or medical student.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the management of poisoning as a public health problem through participation in public and professional education programs, representing the Center publicly in appearances at workshops, seminars, lectures, and health fairs.
• Provides physicians and other medical staff callers with information on agent toxicity, pharmacokinetics, detailed medical management and prognosis in a clear, understandable, and professional manner.
• Works in collaboration with staff, other health care providers and lay callers.
• Participates in mentorship program for new and current students-in-training.
