Job summary

Mercy Health’s St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital is seeking a Lab Point of Care Coordinator to manage the point-of-care testing program across multiple locations. You will provide technical guidance, train staff, and ensure tests are run accurately and promptly.

The role requires an associate degree in MLS or related field, 4 years of lab experience, and MLS/MLT certification. You will monitor QA/QC, implement devices, report results, and collaborate with nurses, physicians and management to

Qualifications

• Associates in Medical Laboratory Science or related field required
• Bachelor's degree preferred in MLS/biology/chemistry/microbiology
• 4 years of lab tech experience required
• MLS/MLT certification by a recognized agency (ASCP preferred) required

Responsibilities

• Coordinate point-of-care testing across multiple lab and clinic locations
• Ensure timely reporting, read back, and documentation of critical tests and results
• Implement POCT devices, instruments, and processes
• Comply with monthly workload and QA/QC reports
• Develop, evaluate, and revise procedures; analyze data promptly
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and take corrective action with equipment
• Other duties as assigned
