Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Point of Care Coordinator in the Core Laboratory at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital.

This role coordinates POC testing across locations, ensuring timely reporting and proper documentation of critical results while supporting device implementation and QA/QC activities. The ideal candidate has an Associate degree in MLS/Biology/Chemistry/Microbiology with 4 years of lab experience and MLS/MLT certification (ASCP preferred).

Qualifications

• Associates in Medical Laboratory Science/Biology/Chemistry/Microbiology (required).
• Bachelors in Medical Laboratory Science/Biology/Chemistry/Microbiology (preferred).
• 4 years of lab tech experience (required).
• Certified Medical Lab Technician (MLT) or Medical Lab Scientist (MLS) by ASCP or similar (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate point of care testing across multiple locations.
• Ensure timely reporting, read back, and documentation of critical tests and results.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and take corrective action with laboratory equipment as needed.
• Develop, evaluate and revise processes; collect and analyze data promptly.
