Job summary

Upperline Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in delivering podiatry care at the Cahaba, AL office. You will assist with clinical and administrative tasks, take and develop x-rays, and coordinate patient care with the care team.

Ideal candidates have MA experience, podiatry/orthopedic exposure, EMR familiarity (athenahealth), and strong communication skills. A sign-on bonus of $500 is offered and the role follows regular weekday clinic hours.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Medical Assistant; MA certification is a plus.
• Podiatry or orthopedic clinic experience preferred.
• X-ray experience is a plus.
• Clinical care coordination or care management experience is ideal.
• Experience with adult/geriatric patients preferred.
• Excellent computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience with EMR—preferably athenahealth.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Stable work history and reliable transportation required.
• Effective communicator with professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Place patients in exam rooms and prepare them for the physician.
• Complete exam intake including medical, social, and surgical histories.
• Conduct health assessments and coordinate care for Upperline Plus patients in podiatry clinics.
• Telephonic outreach to coordinate preventive care.
• Assist with charting and maintain accurate records for the physician.
• Take and develop x-rays and assist in exam rooms as required.
• Stock exam rooms and maintain cleanliness of rooms and x-ray areas.
• Satisfy quality measures and audits; travel to nearby clinics if needed.
