Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Podiatry or Orthopedic clinic experience preferred.
• X-ray experience is a plus.
• Clinical care coordination or care management experience is ideal.
• Experience assisting or providing care to geriatric patients preferred.
• Excellent computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience in EMR; preferably athenahealth.
• Effective communication with strong grammar and interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional customer service preferred.
• Reliable transportation required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Place patients in exam rooms and prepare them for physician consultation.
• Complete exam intake, reviewing medical, social, surgical histories.
• Record vitals and document in Athenahealth EMR.
• Assist physician with care and take X-rays as needed.
• Perform daily admin tasks like restocking rooms and disposing of trash.
• Clean and sterilize exam and X-ray rooms after each patient.
• Sterilize equipment.
• Conduct health assessments and Upperline Plus visits.
• Coordinate care via medical records requests, orders, scheduling, and referrals.
• Travel to surrounding clinics to provide support when needed.
