Job summary

Upperline Health is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to support podiatry/orthopedic physicians in the Munster, IN clinic. The role involves clinical assistance, patient prep, x-ray support, and care coordination within a busy specialty care setting.

Ideal candidates have MA experience, familiarity with athenahealth EMR, strong communication, and reliable transportation to travel to nearby clinics if needed. Weekday clinic hours and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience as Medical Assistant preferred.
• Podiatry or Orthopedic clinic experience preferred.
• X-ray experience is a plus.
• Clinical care coordination or care management experience is ideal.
• Experience assisting or providing care to geriatric patients preferred.
• Excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of medical terminology.
• Great communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Place patients in exam rooms and prep them for the physician.
• Complete exam intake including medical history, social history, surgical history, and HPI.
• Complete vitals and document in the EMR (athenahealth).
• Provide patient care under the podiatric physician, including taking x-rays as required.
• Perform daily administrative tasks like restocking exam rooms and disposing of trash.
• Clean and sterilize exam and x-ray rooms after each patient and at day end.
• Coordinate care and outreach for Upperline Plus patients.
• Travel to nearby clinics to provide support if needed.
