Upperline Health Inc is seeking an energetic Medical Assistant to support physicians in a busy Bloomfield Hills, MI clinic. This part-time role focuses on clinical tasks, radiography support, and admin duties within an integrated care team.

Ideal candidates have podiatry or orthopedic clinic exposure, x-ray experience, and proficiency with athenahealth EMR. Strong communication and customer service skills are essential for coordinating patient care and maintaining smooth clinic operations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Podiatry or Orthopedic clinic experience preferred.
• X-ray experience is a plus.
• Clinical care coordination or care management experience is ideal.
• Excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of medical terminology.
• Previous experience working in an EMR; preferably athenahealth.
• Must be an effective communicator with excellent grammar and interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional customer service highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Place patients in exam rooms; ensure they are ready for the physician.
• Complete exam intake including medical, social, surgical history, and history of present illness.
• Complete vitals and documentation in EMR (athenahealth).
• Provide patient care under the direction of a podiatric physician including taking x-rays and assisting in the exam room as required.
• Perform daily administrative tasks such as restocking exam rooms and disposing of exam room trash.
• Clean and sterilize exam and x-ray rooms after each patient visit and at day's end.
• Conduct health assessments and visits with Upperline Plus patients.
• Telephonic outreach and engagement with Upperline Plus patients to coordinate ongoing preventative care.
• Care coordination activities including medical records requests, order management, appointment scheduling, referrals, etc.
• Travel to surrounding area clinics to provide support if needed.
• Other related duties as deemed necessary by Upperline Health.
