Job summary

Allina Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers and nursing staff in delivering timely patient care. Responsibilities include rooming patients, managing flow, administering injections, and communicating with patients.

Requires completion of a Medical Assistant program with clinical training; 0.8 FTE (64 hours per 2-week pay period) and day shifts (Friday off). Mileage reimbursement and a $2,000 starting bonus for eligible external hires are offered.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant program or comparable healthcare education with clinical training.
• 160 hours of clinical externship or practicum if MA experience is under 6 months.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Medical Terminology knowledge preferred.
• BLS certifications (American Heart Association or Red Cross) or in-house BLS within 30 days of hire; CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/CMAA certifications favored.

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients and manages patient flow.
• Collects patient information and documents in EMR.
• Assist with patient exams and provide psycho-emotional support.
• Assist with specimen collection, labeling, and processing.
• Prepare refill information for provider review.
• May cover front desk and patient registration duties.
