Job summary

Allina Health Group Hastings seeks a Medical Assistant to support providers and nurses in delivering timely patient care. The role includes rooming patients, managing flow, administering medications, and EMR communications.

Starting bonus may apply for eligible external talent. The position is 0.8 FTE with an 8-hour day shift and no weekend rotations, with periodic float to regional clinics on a rotational basis.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a Medical Assistant program or comparable healthcare education program with clinical training.
• Fewer than six months of Medical Assistant experience require a minimum of 160 hours of clinical externship or practicum.
• High school diploma or GED is preferred and beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients and manages patient flow; collects patient information and documents in EMR.
• Assists with physician exams and provides psycho-emotional support to patients.
• Assists with specimen collection, labeling, and processing; coordinates lab results with providers.
• Covers front desk and assists with patient registration/scheduling as needed.
• Performs injections and assists with procedures under supervision.
• Maintains safety, cleans and stocks exam and supply rooms; reports environmental risks.
