Job summary

Upperline Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians in delivering care in the Allen Park, MI clinic, with travel to Westland, MI. You will handle clinical and administrative tasks, including taking vitals, assisting in exams, and performing x-rays as required.

The ideal candidate has MA experience, familiarity with podiatry/orthopedics, and EMR proficiency (athenahealth). Strong communication and teamwork are essential, plus reliable transportation for travel between clinics.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include previous experience as a Medical Assistant (preferred)
• Podiatry or Orthopedic clinic experience preferred
• X-ray experience is a plus
• Clinical care coordination or care management experience is ideal
• Experience assisting geriatric patients preferred
• Excellent computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology
• Experience working in an EMR; preferably athenahealth
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliable transportation required
• Excellent written and spoken communication

Responsibilities

• Place patients in exam rooms and prepare them for the physician appointment
• Complete exam intake including medical history and related data
• Record vitals and documentation in the EMR (athenahealth)
• Assist podiatric physician in exams and take x-rays as needed
• Perform daily administrative tasks such as restocking rooms and waste disposal
• Clean and sterilize exam and x-ray rooms after patients and at end of day
• Conduct health assessments and visits for Upperline Plus patients
• Telephonic outreach and engagement for preventive care
• Coordinate care referrals, records requests, scheduling, and orders
• Travel to surrounding clinics to provide support as needed
• Other related duties as assigned by Upperline Health
