Job summary

Upperline Health is seeking an energetic Medical Assistant to support physicians in our Allen Park, MI clinic, with travel to Westland, MI. The role involves assisting in complex health services, performing patient intake, vitals, and basic x-ray tasks under a podiatric physician’s supervision.

Ideal candidates have podiatry or orthopedic experience, familiarity with athenahealth EMR, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred.
• Podiatry or Orthopedic clinic experience preferred.
• X-ray experience is a plus.
• Clinical care coordination or care management experience is ideal.
• Athenahealth EMR familiarity preferred.
• Must be an effective communicator with strong grammar and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Place patients in exam rooms and prepare them for physician appointments.
• Complete exam intake by reviewing medical, social, surgical histories and history of present illness.
• Record vitals and documentation in Athenahealth EMR.
• Assist podiatric physician in examinations and take x-rays as needed.
• Perform daily administrative tasks (re-stocking rooms, discarding waste).
• Clean and sterilize exam and x-ray rooms after each patient and daily.
