Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a Point-of-Care Laboratory Specialist to provide regulatory oversight, quality control, and performance monitoring across assigned facilities.

You will lead testing operations, staff competency, audits, and documentation, partnering with nursing and clinical teams to ensure accurate patient results.

Ideal candidates have a medical technology degree, ASCP/AMT certification, and 3+ years of POC or transfusion lab experience.

Qualifications

• Strong clinical laboratory background and regulatory knowledge.
• Ability to communicate results clearly to medical staff and patients.
• Experience maintaining quality assurance and troubleshooting instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and evaluate complex laboratory testing on blood and body fluids.
• Support transfusion medicine and cellular therapy programs.
• Ensure POC testing compliance, audits, staff competency, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain documentation, records, and regulatory reports; assist with inspections and policy updates.
• Train students and staff; provide technical consultation for new equipment.
• Collaborate with nursing and clinical teams to maintain safe, efficient lab operations.
