Novant Health is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform patient specimen testing, quality control, and documentation while supporting regulatory compliance and safety standards. Applicants should have an associate degree in a science field and ASCP/AMT certification. Experience in Flow Cytometry and MD/AMT certifications are preferred for specialty areas.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science or equivalent education and training.
• One year experience in specialty areas (BB, Flow, Micro); three years as a medical laboratory technician required.
• MLT certification from ASCP or AMT required; Flow Cytometry certification MDT/SCYM required if no other cert.
• New graduates must obtain certification within 12 months of hire; CMP/CCP participation required for ongoing certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient specimen testing, quality control, equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and proficiency testing.
• Maintain laboratory records, process specimens and requisitions, prepare reports, and follow regulatory standards.
• Manage supplies and equipment, follow laboratory safety procedures, and maintain a safe work environment.
• Provide technical support to healthcare professionals and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
• Support quality patient outcomes through accurate testing and adherence to organizational standards.
