Job summary

AdventHealth Laboratory in Hendersonville, NC seeks a skilled specialist to oversee the Point of Care Testing program, ensuring compliance with regulations and quality standards.

You will develop POCT policies, train staff, supervise instrumentation, and coordinate testing quality metrics while collaborating with clinical teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science or medical technology.
• Minimum 2+ years of clinical laboratory experience.
• 5+ years in a POCT environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains POCT quality management per regulations and accreditation.
• Develops and updates POCT policies and procedures.
• Ensures training and competency assessments with documentation.
• Oversees instrumentation method evaluations and validations.
• Reviews QC and patient results; coordinates proficiency testing.
• Manages supply inventory including lot tracking and par levels.
• Oversees interfaces and IT functionality.
• Participates in performance improvement and interdepartmental programs.
• Evaluates staff per non-waived/waived POCT standards.
• Represents the lab with patients, staff, and physicians.
• Serves as teacher, coach, and mentor for clinicians.
