Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Point of Care Testing Specialist to oversee regulatory compliance and quality across POCT sites. You will partner with leadership, clinicians, and lab staff to ensure regulatory adherence and accurate data management in patient records.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or related field, ASCP/NCA certification, and at least 3 years in clinical laboratory settings including POCT experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related applied science from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a clinical internship.
• Certification in ASCP, NCA or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains current knowledge of POCT regulatory aspects across the organization.
• Consults with staff on POCT practices and regulatory compliance.
• Supports evaluation, validation, and implementation of POCT methods and data systems.
• Monitors quality assurance activities including proficiency testing and QC documentation.
• Oversees instrument checks, maintenance, and troubleshooting for POCT.
• Ensures training and competency assessment for personnel performing POCT.
• Reviews POCT data management to ensure accurate integration into the patient record.
• Helps with inventory controls to prevent expired reagents and supplies.
• Collaborates to communicate compliance findings and audit readiness.
