LOTTE HOTEL SEATTLE is hiring a Cook to join our culinary team in Seattle. Under the Lead Cook/Sous Chef, you will prepare and cook menu items, ensure quality, and maintain a clean, organized work area while following food safety guidelines.

Ideal candidates have a relevant bachelor’s level education, at least 1 year of cooking experience, and a culinary certificate. English proficiency and strong teamwork are essential to serve guests with Pacific Northwest-inspired American cuisine.

Qualifications

• Must speak English fluent enough to deal with customers and teammates.
• Culinary certificate required; advanced certificate preferred.
• Knowledge of contemporary American cuisine with Pacific Northwest influences.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Basic computer proficiency and kitchen operations knowledge.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

A Cook works under the Lead Cook/Sous Chef's instructions in preparing and cooking menu items provided to customers. He/she is also responsible for keeping the workplace clean.

EDUCATION:

Relevant bachelor's degree or higher preferred

Experience

• Cooking experience of 1 year or more

Credentials

• Culinary certificate a must.
• Advanced culinary certificate preferred.
• Must speak English fluent enough to be able to deal with customers and teammates
• Must possess general knowledge of the food and culture of a given field
• Must have general knowledge of contemporary American cuisine with Pacific Northwest influences
• Responsible for preparing ingredients for production according to recipes/directions
• Assists with food production
• Must be a good communicator and work well with other teammates and kitchen managers
• Must show basic computer proficiency such as with MSOffice
• Must demonstrate strong knife skills
• Must demonstrate an understanding of, and skills to use, kitchen facility, utility, equipment and kitchenware
• Must know applicable laws regarding food safety and general kitchen operation
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
