Donor Officer - Plus One Foundation, Seattle Washington.

Plus One Foundation is a small nonprofit based in Seattle that aims to improve the lives of children and adults with neurological conditions through activities that offer education, rehabilitation and training.

Working as Plus One's Donor Officer is an exceptional opportunity to join a dynamic team while making a difference.

The Development Officer position is located in Seattle and has flexible hours and maximum telework, ideal for someone who desires a flexible schedule. Position is an independent contractor.

Position Description
Organization

The Plus One Foundation is a small nonprofit based in Seattle that assists children and adults with neurological injury, disorder, or disease to achieve goals through activities that offer education, rehabilitation and training. We fund classes, workshops and life experiences that are proven to assist individuals on their path of rehabilitation and recovery, such as art and music therapy, therapeutic horseback riding, integrated movement therapy, martial arts, meditation, yoga, and aquatic therapies.

Duties
  • Report to the executive director and work closely to support the Board of Directors.
  • Develop and execute annual and multi-year days donor and fundraising strategies.
  • Grow annual revenue in the short-term, while diversifying the donor sponsorship base towards long–term sustainability.
  • Develop a written plan and implement a program to identify, cultivate, solicit and steward appropriate donors with an emphasis on maximizing revenue.
  • Provide direct support and resources for the fundraising committee and board members with fundraisers and events.
  • Ensure that the organization follows all reporting requirements related to fundraising and grants.
  • Accountable for achieving or exceeding fundraising target ( $95,000 a year and above), and managing to meet the fundraising expense target. Ability to operate in an environment with limited resources.
  • Maintain portfolio of donors and prospects, responsible for personally making face-to-face donor solicitations and meeting fundraising metrics. Prepare a report monthly on return of investment in the donor work.
  • Cultivate relationships and serve as the primary staff liaison for representatives of corporations and foundations for solicitation and stewardship purposes.
  • Serve as the primary staff liaison for the Board’s Fundraising Committee. Support new Board members in their fundraising responsibilities and ensure they receive the necessary support to be successful volunteer fundraisers.
  • Responsible for supporting logistics for fundraising activities such as events, pledge drives, and other giving opportunities.
Essential responsibilities and examples of duties
  • The Development Officer is responsible for supporting all facets of fundraising with a strong focus on database management and relationship building. The incumbent is skilled in fostering in person connections and enjoys in person meetings with donors, sponsors and partners in a sustained and effective manner.
  • The incumbent is the organization’s subject matter expert on CRM, and donor systems.
  • Input all gifts, memberships, and donor notes into the CRM.
  • Monitor and ensure timely payment of pledges.
  • Provide weekly/monthly fundraising and financial updates, revenue benchmarks, and fundraising trends to the finance and leadership teams.
  • Send weekly/monthly donor updates to sponsored projects or grantors.
  • Act as CRM point of contact for the organization.
  • Reconcile member/donor database to accounting reports each month. Efficiently report to board on activities and projects.
  • Coordinate digital and paper mailings to donors, appeals, acquisitions, and other groups.
  • Oversee grant calendar and ensure that grant reports, applications, and other deadlines are properly tracked.
  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (or comparable), Google Suite, Slack, CRM platforms and office technology.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff and other stakeholders in a professional and positive manner.
  • Highly detail-oriented with proven ability to accomplish goals, meet deadlines, and create outcomes.
Schedule & Terms

Office hours are flexible with maximum telework option. The work environment is ideal for someone that desires a flexible schedule.

Meet weekly and as needed with executive director, office manager, volunteer and executive committee. Additional meetings include helping to staff Board and committee meetings.

This is a part time (15-20 hrs per week) contract position; benefits are not available.
