Job summary

Willow Valley Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a Full-Time PM Lead Cook to join our dietary team. Lead kitchen operations during the PM shift, ensuring meals are prepared to plan, dietary guidelines, and on-time service for residents.

Ideal candidates have cooking experience in healthcare or similar settings, prior leadership, and a ServSafe or Food Protection Manager certification (or ability to obtain). We offer training, supportive culture, and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Cooking experience required; healthcare, long-term care, hospital, or institutional kitchen experience preferred.
• Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• ServSafe Food Handler or Food Protection Manager certification preferred, or ability to obtain as required.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and special dietary requirements.
• Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate kitchen operations during the PM shift.
• Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and dietary guidelines.
• Ensure meals are prepared and served on time with quality, taste, and presentation.
• Follow proper food handling, storage, preparation, and sanitation procedures.
• Maintain compliance with food safety and infection control regulations.
• Monitor supplies and assist with inventory management and ordering.
• Keep workstations and prep areas clean and sanitized.
• Provide direction and support to dietary team members.
• Ensure residents receive courteous, timely, resident-centered meal service.
• Assist with kitchen cleanup and closing procedures.
