Job summary

Dairy Farmers of America (DFA) seeks a supervisor to oversee drivers and hauling activities at a DFA terminal. The role emphasizes safety, customer service, and operational excellence on a PM shift with on-call duties.

Responsibilities include dispatch-driven planning, scheduling, payroll support, cross-location coordination, and ensuring DOT/PMO compliance, along with active safety coaching and HR collaboration. Requires CDL A and milk sampling licenses or the ability to obtain them.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (required)
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 5 years of distribution, logistics, and/or transportation experience including 2 years in a lead capacity
• CDL A license required; tanker endorsement and further endorsements may be required
• State milk sampler/hauler license or ability to obtain
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Knowledge of dairy industry practices, regulations and equipment
• Knowledge of DOT, PMO, OSHA rules and regulations
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and company systems

Responsibilities

• Receive dispatch information to create hauling plans and assign drivers/equipment
• Create schedules, approve time, resolve payroll/timekeeping issues
• Coordinate with DFA locations to reconfigure driver assignments for special needs
• Establish relationships with DFA members to ensure optimal service
• Manage milk sampling process and laboratory shipments
• Ensure daily paperwork is scanned and filed per retention requirements
• Coach and audit drivers for safety and DOT/PMO compliance
• Collaborate with HR on recruitment and training
• Coordinate with maintenance to ensure equipment is maintained
• Maintain safety culture and report nonconformities
• Be available for on-call emergencies, nights, weekends, holidays
