Job summary

Buro Happold in New York is seeking a Plumbing and Fire Protection Intern to contribute to sustainable engineering solutions. You will assist in designing and modeling building systems, gaining hands-on experience with BIM and coordination across disciplines.

The role offers exposure to industry standards, site visits, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. A student in mechanical, civil, or related engineering fields is required, with a willingness to learn and communicate ideas

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in engineering with a focus on plumbing and fire protection.
• Coursework in mechanical design, heat transfer, thermodynamics and fluid hydraulics/dynamics.
• Familiarity with BIM modelling software, such as Revit and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of plumbing and fire protection systems under the supervision of a senior engineer.
• Contribute to Revit/BIM modeling of construction drawings from schematic design through construction administration.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on project coordination.
• Participate in site visits to verify existing conditions and observe progress during construction.
• Ensure service and project work are carried out to an excellent standard and quality.
