Job summary

Buro Happold in New York is seeking a motivated Graduate Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer to join our team and contribute to innovative and sustainable building solutions. As a Graduate Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer, you will gain hands-on experience while supporting design, documentation, and coordination of plumbing and fire protection systems for diverse building types.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Familiarity with IPC/NFPA codes.
• Experience with BIM software (Revit/AutoCAD) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of plumbing and fire protection designs under senior engineers.
• Prepare construction drawings from schematic design through construction administration.
• Perform calculations using standard engineering software and tools.
• Conduct field surveys to document existing conditions and observe progress during construction.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, and civil teams.
• Assist in client meetings and value engineering sessions.
• Contribute to quality assurance and constructability reviews.
• Help develop discipline-specific standards and specifications.
