Job summary

Buro Happold invites a motivated Plumbing and Fire Protection Intern to join our team in shaping sustainable engineering solutions. You will assist in designing plumbing and fire protection systems, contribute to BIM models from schematic through construction, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on project coordination.

Ideal candidates are pursuing an engineering degree with coursework in mechanical design, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid hydraulics.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in mechanical, fire protection, civil, sanitary, environmental or architectural engineering.
• Coursework in mechanical design, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid hydraulics/dynamics.
• Familiarity with BIM software, such as Revit and AutoCAD.
• Internship experience in an engineering-related firm is beneficial.
• Strong communication and eagerness to learn in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of plumbing and fire protection systems under supervision.
• Contribute to Revit/BIM modeling of construction drawings from schematic design through construction administration.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on project coordination.
• Participate in site visits to verify existing conditions and observe progress during construction.
• Ensure service and project work are carried out to an excellent standard and quality.
