Job summary

Buro Happold Limited is offering a Plumbing and Fire Protection Intern position in Washington, DC. This role provides hands-on experience designing plumbing and fire protection systems with guidance from senior engineers and exposure to BIM workflows.

You will collaborate across disciplines, participate in site visits, and contribute to sustainable project outcomes while developing practical engineering skills in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in mechanical, fire protection, civil, sanitary, environmental or architectural engineering.
• Familiarity with BIM modeling software, such as Revit and AutoCAD.
• Eagerness to learn and work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Internship experience at an engineering-related firm is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design of plumbing and fire protection systems under the supervision of a senior engineer.
• Contribute to Revit/BIM modeling of construction drawings from schematic design through construction administration.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on project coordination.
• Participate in site visits to verify existing conditions and observe progress during construction.
