Job summary

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. (SSR) is seeking a motivated Plumbing Engineer-in-Training (EIT) I to join our Plumbing Engineering team.

You will assist with the design and analysis of plumbing and fire protection systems for healthcare, higher education, commercial, sports, and civic projects. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to innovative, efficient, and code-compliant building systems while building foundation for professional licensure through mentorship and hands-on

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Architectural, Civil engineering or related field.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification obtained or achievable within six months of hire.
• Interest in thermal and fluid systems and building engineering.

Responsibilities

• Assist design of domestic water, sanitary, storm drainage, fuel gas, medical gas, fire sprinkler and specialty plumbing systems.
• Support development of plumbing construction documents, drawings, specs and calculations.
• Perform pipe sizing, fixture counts, system demand, temperature and pressure calculations; equipment selection.
• Use Revit, AutoCAD and related software to coordinate layouts.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, structural, architectural and civil teams.
• Review submittals, shop drawings and product data for compliance.
• Conduct site visits to verify progress and resolve issues.
• Support project documentation, schedules and client deliverables.
• Research codes and standards to ensure compliant designs.
