Job summary

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. is seeking a Plumbing Engineer-in-Training (EIT) I to assist with design and analysis of plumbing and fire protection systems across healthcare, higher education, commercial, sports, and civic facilities.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, develop construction documents, and perform engineering calculations to ensure code-compliant, efficient building systems while laying the groundwork for professional licensure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Architectural, Civil Engineering or related field.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification obtained or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
• Strong interest in thermal and fluid systems and building engineering.

Responsibilities

• Assist in design and analysis of plumbing and fire protection systems for healthcare, education, commercial, sports and civic projects.
• Develop plumbing construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Perform pipe sizing, fixture counts, system demand, and equipment selection calculations.
• Use Revit and AutoCAD to develop and coordinate building system layouts.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, structural, architectural and civil teams.
