SSR (Smith Seckman Reid, Inc.) in Houston seeks a Plumbing Engineer-in-Training (EIT) I to join our Plumbing Engineering team. You will assist with the design and analysis of plumbing and fire protection systems for healthcare, higher education, commercial, sports, and civic projects.

Working with experienced engineers, you will help develop construction documents, perform calculations, and coordinate with mechanical, electrical, structural, architectural, and civil teams while building the

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Architectural/Civil Engineering or related field.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification obtained or ability to obtain within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design of plumbing and fire protection systems.
• Develop plumbing construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Perform engineering calculations related to pipe sizing, system demand, and equipment selection.
• Utilize Revit, AutoCAD to develop and coordinate layouts.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and review submittals for compliance.
• Conduct site visits to survey conditions and support issue resolution.
• Support project managers with documentation, schedules, and client deliverables.
