Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Plumbing Engineer/Designer to develop plumbing systems for commercial and institutional buildings in the Conroe, TX area. You will work closely with architects, MEP engineers, contractors and clients to create design documents and coordinate systems.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in plumbing/MEP consulting, proficiency with Revit or AutoCAD, and a solid understanding of plumbing codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3+ years of plumbing/MEP consulting experience.
• Experience designing plumbing systems for commercial or institutional buildings.
• Experience with Revit and/or AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of plumbing codes and building systems.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Texas EIT or PE preferred.
• K-12, higher education, healthcare or institutional experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design plumbing systems for commercial and institutional buildings.
• Develop plumbing plans, specifications and construction documents.
• Design domestic water, sanitary, waste/vent and storm drainage systems.
• Design natural gas systems where applicable.
• Coordinate plumbing systems with architectural, mechanical and electrical designs.
• Perform plumbing calculations and equipment sizing.
• Conduct field investigations and existing-condition assessments.
• Review shop drawings, submittals and equipment selections.
• Respond to RFIs and assist with construction administration.
• Participate in project and client meetings.
• Perform QA/QC reviews of plumbing documents.
• Utilize Revit and AutoCAD for plumbing design.
• Interpret and apply applicable plumbing/building codes.
• Coordinate with contractors during construction.
