Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Plumbing Engineer (EIT or PE) for an on-site role in Piney Point, TX. You will design plumbing systems for commercial and institutional buildings and collaborate with architects, engineers and contractors.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 3+ years of MEP plumbing experience, proficiency with Revit/AutoCAD, and knowledge of plumbing codes. Texas EIT or PE preferred.

Our client in the MEP Consulting space is looking to hire Engineers with MEP experience! Growing Engineering firm!

We are looking for an experienced Plumbing Engineer/Designer with a background in MEP consulting and building systems design.

This person will be responsible for designing plumbing systems for commercial and institutional buildings while working closely with architects, mechanical/electrical engineers, contractors and clients.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design plumbing systems for commercial and institutional buildings
• Develop plumbing plans, specifications and construction documents
• Design domestic water, sanitary, waste/vent and storm drainage systems
• Design natural gas systems where applicable
• Coordinate plumbing systems with architectural, mechanical and electrical designs
• Perform plumbing calculations and equipment sizing
• Conduct field investigations and existing-condition assessments
• Review shop drawings, submittals and equipment selections
• Respond to RFIs and assist with construction administration
• Participate in project and client meetings
• Perform QA/QC reviews of plumbing documents
• Utilize Revit and AutoCAD for plumbing design
• Interpret and apply applicable plumbing/building codes
• Coordinate with contractors during construction

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline preferred
• 3+ years of plumbing/MEP consulting experience
• Experience designing plumbing systems for commercial or institutional buildings
• Experience with Revit and/or AutoCAD
• Strong understanding of plumbing codes and building systems
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
• Texas EIT or PE preferred
• K-12, higher education, healthcare or institutional experience is a plus
