Job summary

Spaulding Hospital-Cambridge, Inc. is seeking a Journeyman Plumber to install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems across our facilities.

You will support construction and renovation projects, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure compliance with department standards and MA plumbing codes. The role requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, 2–3 years of plumbing service experience, and a state license.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Massachusetts plumbing codes knowledge.
  • Experience reading blueprints and piping diagrams.
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office; ability to learn new software.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain piping systems for water, sewage, gas, steam, and air per department standards.
  • Order and stock replacement parts, materials, and tools for work orders.
  • Respond to emergency and routine repairs within department time frames.
  • Document repairs, parts, and adjustments per guidelines.
  • Assist trades for installation, maintenance, or basic repair of equipment, piping, electric, HVAC systems.

Work on special projects and programs to support construction and renovation projects. Monitor the installation and repair of equipment and systems by contractors during construction and renovation projects.Does this position require Patient Care?NoEssential FunctionsPiping systems for water, sewage, gas, steam, and air are installed, repaired, and maintained per department standards.Replacement parts, materials, and tools are ordered and maintained to meet the needs of work orders.Emergency and routine repairs are responded to within department time frames.Stock and material lists are prepared to complete work order requests and other routine work.Daily rounds are completed to ensure mechanical equipment is functioning and malfunctions are reported to appropriate parties.Documentation reflects repairs, replacement parts, and adjustments as per department and regulatory guidelines.Assistance is provided to the various trades in the installation, maintenance, or basic repair of equipment, piping, electric, HVAC systems, and various other duties per department standards.Preventive maintenance program is performed and maintained per established time frames.Complies with all policies and standards.QualificationsEducation High School Diploma or Equivalent required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree?
