Job summary

SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory seeks a Database Administrator to implement and support the transition from TeamCenter to PTC WindChill, focusing on workflows, data transfer, and end-user support within the Chief Engineer’s Office.

You will support PLM tools and SLAC’s Labwide Toolkit, with emphasis on WindChill, TeamCenter experience, and strong database expertise. This role offers on-site and hybrid options in a dynamic lab setting.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s degree and five years of relevant experience.
• Experience with installation and operation of relational DB systems or PLM suites.
• Knowledge of system security, capacity planning, and health tracking of databases.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and support RDBMS or PLM suite back ends.
• Perform resource and usage management (performance tuning).
• Manage backup/recovery services for data/database systems.
• Monitor usage and security, ensuring data integrity.
• Diagnostics and problem resolution; coordinate with vendors as needed.
• Design, configure, and implement new database/PLM environments and tools.
• Other database administration activities as required.
• Provide technical documentation for setup and operation.
• Keep up-to-date with technology trends and applications.
