Job summary

Global Connect Technologies is seeking an experienced Database Engineer / DBA with strong PTC Windchill experience to install, configure, and manage our Windchill-backed database infrastructure supporting the Infra PLM reboot initiative.

The role supports a P1 initiative handling 120K+ parts and 600+ ECOs monthly across multiple ODMs, requiring rigorous performance tuning, backup/recovery, and high-availability configurations.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of database administration and engineering experience.
• Hands-on expertise with PTC Windchill databases.
• Experience with Oracle and/or PostgreSQL.
• Installation, configuration, and performance tuning of DBs.
• Backup, recovery, and high-availability solutions.
• Experience supporting production and non-production environments.
• Understanding PLM/Windchill architecture and database dependencies.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and administer databases supporting PTC Windchill environments
• Build and support production and non-production Windchill environments
• Perform database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting
• Configure and manage backup, recovery, and disaster-recovery strategies
• Implement and maintain high-availability database configurations
• Monitor database health, capacity, performance, and availability
• Support Windchill application teams with database-related issues
• Develop database standards, maintenance procedures, and operational documentation
• Troubleshoot database performance and connectivity issues in collaboration with PLM/Infrastructure teams
