Job summary

Phizenix seeks an experienced PTC Windchill Application Manager (DBA) to lead installation, configuration, administration, and optimization of the Windchill database infrastructure in support of the Infrastructure PLM Reboot initiative.

The role emphasizes high availability, security, and performance for a PLM environment with 120,000+ parts and 600+ ECOs per month, collaborating with engineering and IT teams to meet SLA commitments.

Qualifications

• 10+ years enterprise database administration experience.
• 5+ years supporting Windchill environments in production.
• Experience installing, configuring, and administering Windchill database infrastructure.
• Expertise with Oracle Database and/or Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with backup/recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery.
• Strong understanding of PLM data models, BOM structures, ECO processes, and configuration management.
• ITIL Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management experience.
• Excellent troubleshooting and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Windchill Database Administration: install, configure, upgrade, and administer Windchill database environments.
• Design scalable DB architecture to support enterprise PLM workloads.
• Manage development, qa, staging, DR and production environments.
• Monitor DB health, availability, and performance; ensure security and compliance.
• Provide database leadership for Infra PLM Reboot; support migration and modernization.
• Own operational support for Windchill DB infrastructure and L2/L3 incident handling.
• Lead root-cause analysis for DB performance/availability issues.
• Coordinate patching, upgrades, releases, and maintenance with minimal disruption.
• Optimize performance with tuning of queries, indexes, and parameters.
• Ensure capacity planning and proactive monitoring and governance.
