Job summary

SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory seeks a Database Administrator to implement and support the transition from TeamCenter to PTC WindChill. You will work with PLM support staff from requirements through implementation and focus on data transfer and end-user support.

As part of the Chief Engineer’s office, you will maintain RDBMS systems, perform performance tuning, backup/recovery, and documentation, while serving as the main contact for training and onboarding to the new system.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience installing and operating relational database systems and PLM back ends.
• Experience with external users, internal systems services, and file system structures.
• Knowledge of PLM suite security protocols and system design.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and support relational database management systems or PLM back ends.
• Perform resource and usage management (performance/optimization tuning).
• Manage backup/recovery services for data/database systems.
• Coordinate and monitor usage of the database/PLM suite and ensure integrity.
• Diagnostics, issue resolution, and vendor interfacing as required.
• Design, configuration, and implementation of new database/PLM environments.
• Document system setup and operational procedures for users.
• Maintain knowledge of technology trends and their application.
