Job summary

USG is seeking a PLC Technician for our Detroit-area manufacturing plant responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, and programming of process control equipment. The role requires hands-on work with ladder logic, HMI, and control systems, with occasional on-call, weekend and overtime.

You will collaborate with operations and IT to support plant networks and implement new PLC technologies to drive continuous improvement, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Certification or specialized education in process control preferred.
• Experience with the engineering, programming, and implementation of industrial control systems.
• Proven experience with ladder logic programming, HMI programming and their applications.
• Aptitude for instrumentation and controls design.
• Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodology is a plus.
• Self-starter, with excellent organization skills to handle multiple priorities effectively.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance, troubleshooting, and enhancement of the plant’s process control and drive programs.
• Provide the programming for plant process control equipment.
• Assist with the development and implementation of new PLC technologies to drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with impacted stakeholders around needs, project status, etc.
• Support the plant’s networking and computer systems as needed.
