Job summary

PPG is seeking a Process Controls Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and improve plant process control, instrumentation, and electrical systems across manufacturing operations. You will support production, maintenance, and engineering teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient performance of PLCs, HMIs, SCADA systems, and related networks.

Ideal candidates hold an associate degree or equivalent experience, 3+ years in process controls, and proficiency with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMI/SCADA,

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering Technology, Instrumentation, Automation, or related field.
• 3+ years of manufacturing experience in process controls, instrumentation, automation, and electrical systems.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMI/SCADA, industrial networks, and process instrumentation.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, loop drawings, and technical docs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, SCADA, and industrial networks.
• Support Allen-Bradley PLC platforms, SCADA, HMIs, and communication networks.
• Resolve process control issues affecting production, quality, safety, or reliability.
• Monitor system performance and seek improvements to control strategies and automation.
• Troubleshoot process instrumentation (flow, pressure, temperature, level, valves, analyzers).
• Assist maintenance and operations to ensure efficient facility operation.
• Support electrical systems troubleshooting and modifications.
• Ensure instrumentation and electrical equipment operate within design parameters.
