Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Software Dev Engineer III for the Amazon Interactive Video Service Real Time Video team.

You will design and build the systems that power real-time and sub-second video distribution at massive scale, working deep in the stack to ensure low latency, high reliability, and seamless experiences for millions of concurrent viewers. You will collaborate with engineers, mentor junior teammates, conduct code reviews, and drive architectural decisions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
• Knowledge of at least two of the following programming languages: Scala, Java, Python, C/C++, or Go.
• Deep understanding of WebRTC architecture, signaling, ICE, DTLS, SRTP, and media negotiation.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize high-performance WebRTC distribution components capable of handling millions of concurrent viewers with sub-second latency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and evolve the architecture of real-time media delivery infrastructure.
• Contribute to protocol design and implementation for emerging low-latency transport mechanisms.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks through profiling and data-driven optimization.
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
