Job summary

Amentum seeks a Mid-Level Platform System Engineer to join the MDSEA organization on the IRES contract at Schriever Space Force Base, CO. You will lead a team in designing, implementing, and sustaining platform architectures for enterprise services and space-ground operations, ensuring secure command and control of space-based defenses.

The role requires DoD experience, active clearance, and the ability to obtain higher clearance.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of general full-time work experience.
• 3+ years in IT systems engineering or architecture within DoD or commercial enterprise.
• Fundamental understanding of Requirements Analysis and Management.
• Proficient understanding of the System Engineering V-Model and lifecycle.
• Active DoW Secret Security Clearance; ability to obtain Top Secret with SCI eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Support innovation by designing solutions to improve efficiency, security, and sustainability.
• Define requirements, architect platform systems, and oversee development for enterprise services and satellite ground systems.
• Create implementation and test plans for sustainment personnel.
• Collaborate with engineers, cybersecurity, project managers, software and network teams to ensure standards compliance.
• Define tasks and schedules with project managers to meet milestones.
