Job summary

Okta is seeking a Platform Operations Engineer to help operate the Customer Identity Cloud. You will work closely with the SRE team to keep production systems reliable, manage capacity, monitor performance, and drive improvements for growth and mission-critical users.

You will deploy updates, patch systems, triage requests, monitor health, and support capacity tests while acting as an escalation point for production issues from support teams.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in a Cloud Operations role.
• Experience supporting large-scale, mission-critical production environments.
• Interest or experience in programming (e.g., Go, shell scripting, Terraform).

Responsibilities

• Execute operational work, including updates, patching, and maintaining the Engineering Service Desk queue.
• Ensure team requests are triaged and actioned promptly.
• Monitor platform health and mitigate deployment and operations issues.
• Assist with capacity, performance, and scalability testing as required.
• Act as escalation point for platform issues from customer support teams.
• Execute runbooks and update processes as required.
• Interface with the SRE team to report core issues, required improvements, and new feature requests.
