Job summary

Okta's Federal SRE team is seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer to join a mission-focused group responsible for building and operating secure, scalable cloud services. You will partner with software engineers, architects, and product teams to drive automation-first, reliability-first initiatives across the Okta identity platform.

Ideal candidates will bring deep cloud networking expertise, FedRAMP/IL6 experience, and a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with full scope poly
• Experience navigating Federal and DoD compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, IL6) with SC2S/C2S familiarity
• 8+ years in a Cloud Network Engineer role or related
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP networking; capable of building highly available VPC networks
• Knowledge of AWS network concepts: Transit Gateway, VPN, Direct Connect
• Experience with load balancing, DNS, and networking protocols
• Experience with Apache httpd, nginx, Tomcat, or similar
• Ability to troubleshoot network issues using VPC flow logs and CloudWatch
• Experience with Terraform
• Bash, Python, Golang or similar (bonus)
• Git
• Collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, reliable network solutions
• Maintain a highly available cloud infrastructure edge for the Okta identity platform
• Collect and analyze data to identify root causes for network events
• Automate AWS infrastructure with Terraform
• Evolve the system to improve efficiency, scalability, and velocity
