Job summary

Okta is seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer to join the Federal SRE team in the Emerging Products Group. You will lead reliability initiatives, design, build, and operate cloud services, and mentor engineers across multiple teams to improve system resilience.

This role emphasizes automation-first thinking, SRE best practices, and partnership with product and software engineers to deliver secure, scalable services.

Qualifications

• Active U.S. TS/SCI clearance with Full Scope Poly is required.
• Experience with federal DoD compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP/IL6 preferred.
• Proven record leading reliability initiatives across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate large-scale cloud infrastructure and production services.
• Participate in on-call rotation for highly available customer-facing systems.
• Lead incident response and post-incident reviews focused on systemic improvements.
• Define, measure, and improve SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.
• Partner with engineering to improve availability, scalability, performance, and resilience.
• Improve observability with metrics, logging, tracing, dashboards, and alerting.
