Job summary
Cox Automotive in Atlanta, GA seeks a Senior Director of Software Engineering to own the technical health, AI readiness, and architectural direction of the Customer Platforms portfolio. This Platform Leader will set the vision across Salesforce, Genesys, Sierra, and related systems, ensuring cross-platform delivery and strategic alignment with business goals.
The role reports to the AVP, Software Engineering and requires deep Salesforce expertise, platform leadership, and a track record of
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline with extensive experience
- Deep technical expertise in Salesforce and platform architecture
- Broad knowledge of customer engagement technology including Salesforce, contact centers, and marketing automation
- Proven thought leadership on the future of customer engagement SaaS and AI
- Experience leading AI transformation within CRM or customer engagement platforms
- Proven ability to lead platform engineering organizations and develop technical leaders
- Strong analytical thinking, business acumen, requirements analysis, and technology strategy
- Ability to build partnerships, guide teams, and lead with vision
Responsibilities
- Owns the technical health, architecture, and AI readiness of the Customer Platforms portfolio
- Serves as the technical authority for Customer Platforms across all platforms
- Lead cross-platform value through platform health and engineering innovation
- Directly leads Value Stream Leaders to drive cross-platform business outcomes
- Owns the AI Transformation strategy for Customer Platforms
- Leads with forward-looking AI capabilities and vendor landscape awareness
- Establishes AI-ready engineering standards and automated testing practices
- Establishes technology and architecture standards for CRM customization and marketing automation
- Maintains vendor relationships and strategic build-vs-buy decisions
- Develops and retains engineering talent and leadership within Customer Platforms
- Defines the engineering operating model for delivery with release cadence and AI-generated code reviews
- Develops long-range platform requirements and technology roadmaps grounded in business strategy
