Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to shape secure software and cloud infrastructure for enterprise AI initiatives on AWS. You will design, build, and maintain platform components, mentor teammates, and influence engineering practices across products and services.

You'll work closely with AWS technical teams, own platform-level integration, and help implement guardrails, observability, and scalable solutions while balancing short-term delivery with long-term reliability.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 4 years' related experience.
5+ years of professional software development experience.
Strong proficiency in Python and API development.
Experience with AWS services (Lambda, S3, IAM, API Gateway, CloudWatch, Step Functions).
Experience with third-party API integrations and OAuth 2.0/OIDC.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and CI/CD (GitHub Actions).
Knowledge of distributed systems concepts and fault tolerance.
Experience enforcing authorization policies in multi-tenant systems.

Responsibilities

Own platform integration infrastructure including auth and health monitoring.
Serve as senior technical contact for domain teams; review designs and ensure production readiness.
Build connectors for various systems and ensure guardrails.
Develop AI Platform engineering items like AI Artifact Hub and knowledge ingestion pipelines.
Design and implement fine-grained access controls and DLP enforcement.
Build observability and evaluation frameworks; cost tracking and alerting.
Collaborate with AWS teams and mentor juniors.
