Job summary

This role combines people leadership with technical direction to ensure business value and engineering excellence. You will drive AI-enabled development, spec-driven practices, and close collaboration with Product, Architecture, and Business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 6+ years of experience.
• Hands-on software engineering experience with distributed systems.
• Experience leading or managing teams in a software org.
• Experience designing cloud-based applications (AWS).
• Strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and modern engineering practices.
• Available for rotational on-call duties outside business hours.

Responsibilities

• Lead, grow, and mentor a team of software engineers with accountability and collaboration.
• Oversee planning, design, development, and delivery of software products and services.
• Ensure secure, scalable, well-tested software aligned with needs.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, and Business to translate requirements into solutions.
• Establish engineering best practices, testing, automation, observability, and reliability.
• Drive continuous improvement across development processes and DevOps.
• Promote high standards of code quality, architecture, and system design.
• Champion AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, and documentation.
• Define best practices for safe AI usage within the SDLC.
• Enable teams to evaluate AI outputs for correctness, security, and maintainability.
• Drive productivity through AI-enabled automation and workflows.
• Establish and scale spec-driven development practices across teams.
• Align engineering, product, and UX around shared specs to reduce rework.
• Contribute to technical strategy and roadmap planning.
