Job summary

Kindred, a members-only home swapping platform, is seeking a world-class Platform Engineer to join our cloud and backend team. You will own cloud architecture, deployment pipelines, and infra-as-code, building scalable AWS infrastructure that powers our consumer product.

You’ll design internal tools, mentor engineers, and partner with data and engineering teams to ensure reliable, secure, and performant systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technical experience in platform engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, VPC, IAM).
• Strong coding skills with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar, and building internal tools and automation.
• Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience with observability, monitoring, logging, and incident response.
• Proven track record leading infrastructure initiatives at high-growth companies.

Responsibilities

• Serve as infrastructure lead and own cloud architecture, platform strategy, deployment pipelines, and IaC implementation.
• Design, build, and maintain scalable AWS infrastructure to support a growing platform.
• Develop internal tools, automation, and backend services to boost developer productivity and ops efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering and data teams to ensure infrastructure supports current needs and scales for growth.
• Mentor engineers on cloud architecture, observability, and operational excellence.
