Job summary

Pliant is seeking a Platform Infrastructure Engineer to own the AWS infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and runtime environments across multiple accounts. You will design, build, and operate Terraform modules, GitHub Actions pipelines, Lambda functions in Go and Python, and an ECS to Kubernetes migration, collaborating with product engineers and reporting to the Head of Platform Infrastructure.

You will work on on-call rotations, implement observability with Datadog, and ensure PCI DSS and SOC 2

Qualifications

• 5+ years in platform or infrastructure engineering, with production AWS experience.
• Strong AWS: VPC, IAM, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS; know managed vs self-hosted.
• Terraform modules, state migrations, drift, and remote state management.
• Experience with Spacelift or similar IaC tooling.
• Kubernetes production workloads; ECS to EKS migration.
• GitHub Actions at scale; reusable workflows, matrix, caching.
• Datadog monitoring and SLOs.
• Python proficiency to navigate codebase.
• Clear communication with non-technical peers.
• AWS IAM Roles Anywhere and certificate-based auth patterns.
• Fluency with AI coding tools like Claude Code or Cursor.

Responsibilities

• Own infra domains end to end from design to on-call.
• Run Terraform modules for multi-account AWS setup via Spacelift.
• Maintain GitHub Actions pipelines for a fleet of Java/Kotlin microservices.
• Build Lambda functions in Go and Python for metrics, rotation, IAM auth.
• Set up Datadog monitors, dashboards, and SLOs.
• Manage IAM, KMS, and PCI DSS/SOC 2 controls.
• Participate in on-call rotations.
• Use AI tools to accelerate shipping features.
