Job summary

Tutor is seeking a senior leader to own and scale the shared infrastructure that AI agents and engineering teams rely on. You will design, build, and run environments, tooling, observability, and context to empower both engineers and operators.

You will decide ownership boundaries, drive fast incident response when the shared layer fails, and hire a small, capable team to grow with the company. This is a hands-on leadership role with broad scope across the organization.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in infrastructure, platform, or systems engineering with team leadership experience
• Experience building environments and tooling for AI agents
• Accountability for production systems, incident response, and postmortems
• Proven ability to scale a small senior team as the company grows
• Ability to write clear decisions and standards and drive adoption across teams

Responsibilities

• Lead the team that builds the infrastructure agents run on: environments, tooling, observability, context
• Decide ownership boundaries between central team and individual teams and document decisions
• Be the accountable person when the shared layer fails and coordinate rapid response
• Partner with engineers who use the systems to diagnose and fix root causes
• Hire and grow a small senior team; set direction for scalable platform leadership
• Work with users who are operators to ensure systems enable faster, safer engineering
