Job summary

Tutor is seeking a senior leader to build and support the infrastructure that powers AI agents across the company. You will own environments, tooling, observability, and context for agents, balancing central ownership with autonomy for teams.

You will hire and grow a small team, set the direction, and ensure fast, reliable operations when things break. Expect a hands-on leader who writes code when needed and mentors engineers to move quickly while maintaining quality and security.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in infrastructure, platform, or systems engineering with leadership experience.
• Experience building for AI agents, including environments, tooling, or workflows.
• Proven accountability for production, on-call, incident response, and postmortems.
• Leadership that makes others faster and drives adoption of platform work.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team that builds the infrastructure agents run on: environments, tooling, observability, and context.
• Decide what the central team owns vs. team-owned components and document the decisions.
• Be the accountable person when the shared layer fails, coordinating response across Production, CI, and Security.
• Work alongside engineers who use the infrastructure, fixing root causes, not just incidents.
• Hire senior engineers, grow the team as needed, and set the direction for scale.
